Virtual classes (customizable) by appt - 1 hr - $10 pp

Let the morning unfold............

Enjoy the strength, freedom, fluidity and balance of postural yoga.  Feel the mind/body benefits of this living art form. How? By practicing it of course!  The masterpiece is never completed and there are no ranks or hierarchies. The power is within the process itself.  You show up exactly as you are. We don’t mentally focus on ‘results’ as yoga simply delivers the results if you practice.

We will start in a fully reclined position, lying on our mats, with 4-part/ Sama Vritti/’box’ breath, and sloooooowly wake up the core – not just the abdominals in our belly, but also on both sides of the torso and along the spine.  Continuing with a modified Vinyasa flow consisting of 4 poses practiced repetitively, coordinating breath with movement to fully warm up the body. Then an invigorating Warrior series, a ‘leave your ego at the door’ balancing pose, with challenging yet uplifting breathing exercises to follow.  My goal is for you to start your day knowing that you are  100% prepared to embrace opportunities, navigate difficulties, and enjoy the fact that your flesh & bones are high-fiving you throughout the day and beyond…....!

Breath+Motion = Healthy Potion

A full 15 minutes of breathwork launches this unique composition of poses designed to energetically greet the day.  Invigorating the upper body at onset will encourage a lower body shift in focus when its' time to ground and stabilize.  We will progress with the  'basic' warming Vinyasa flow, followed by a Warrior series which also flows, but ooooh so slowly to practice stillness while feeling challenged.  Our standing series will be capped off with a trio of balancing poses, after which we will conclude with stretching, more breathwork, and soothing relaxation.  This sequence particularly nurtures the Anahata (Heart) Chakra, which is said to  be associated with compassion, empathy, love, and forgiveness......elements which support an overall state of vibrant health.    In addition to enhancing joint flexibility throughout the body , we will bestow a feeling of openness in the chest cavity,  creating  an optimal environment for the lungs to expand fully.

Strengthen, Lengthen, Flourish! duration: 40 minutes

A creative fusion of various yoga styles, for a methodical and challenging, yet joyful coalescence of breathing, movement, and meditation.  This dynamic, yet grounded sequence draws from principles of  ‘traditional’ Hatha yoga and Vinyasa Flow.  We will start with invigorating breathing techniques combined with refreshing stretches and move to a systematic flow to warm up the body and soothe the mind. Our practice will evolve into a  combination of poses which are held in stillness. We will safely stand, sit, kneel, bend backward/forward/sideways, twist, lunge, balance, flex, extend, lie on our backs and lie on our tummies.  We will close our practice by ushering in a quiet mind to promote a blissful state.  Morning classes will assist in welcoming the days' joys and challenges ahead.  Evening classes will help  invoke a sense that the day's struggles are far far away.......

Reach for the stars! duration: 1 hour

Designed for those who wish to learn and practice variations, including inversions, which go deeper than the ‘basic’ expression of a pose. We will explore a more challenging pace, and hold static poses for an extended duration. Core-specific flows will be introduced. As in other forms of yoga, the depth and cadence of the breath will hold primary significance. This enthusiastic sequence will exhilarate and promote a bright, centered mindset as we integrate strength and grace.  We will wrap up our practice in meditative stillness, letting our body and mind incorporate the benefits of our consistent effort. Experience with yoga is preferred, though not required if you have previously committed to a physical movement regimen which provokes a challenge.  If you are new to yoga, it is highly encouraged to practice ‘Strengthen, Lengthen, Flourish!’ concurrently.

Get on your Throne!

Develop and savor the refreshing sense of well-being that comes from uniting breath and movement, whilst practicing most poses in a seated position. Yes, this is Chair (Throne!) Yoga! Common misconceptions of Chair Yoga are that it is too ‘easy,’ you won’t really ‘feel’ anything, & it is only for Seniors and/or those with mobility issues.

While it indeed it is among the most gentle forms of yoga…….it is in fact yoga! We will engage the body from head to toe, bestowing a sense of physical and mental vitality. Restorative poses and deep breathing techniques will help to coax tension out of the joints. As in other expressions of yoga, we will do the work to enhance strength, flexibility, endurance and balance. We will *crown* our practice with a soothing meditation, bestowing the mind with peaceful bliss.

*Class starts on time*

Yoga is not a 'drop-in' activity after class has already started.  This is because the initial breathing excercises and warm up poses are systematically designed for a safe class.......so they shouldn't be abbreviated or skipped.
